Managing production-related documents crucial for safety, quality, and overall production efficiency is easier than ever with this module. It enables manufacturers to manage, distribute, and view Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), quality documents, checklists, and much more without the typical hassles.

Seamless MES integration

The drop-in functionality allows customers to use the same document management system in a uniform manner across SPC, Track & Trace, OEE, and Settings & Changeover boundaries. Almost any MES object modeled according to the ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards can have a document attached, including batches, material definitions, operations, recipes, and much more.

Key features of the Document Management module

Custom documentation
Create and maintain user interactive documentation such as assembly instructions, warning notes, and data tracking forms. Documents are stored as artifacts on MES objects (e.g., material definitions, process segments).

Storage
All documents are stored in a standard HTML5 format along with the MES and production data. This completely eliminates issues with documents and data stored in different locations. Images are embedded in the documents, eliminating broken links to images.

Version control
To ensure production workers use the correct version of a document, built-in version control is used. This is linked to production activities from other MES modules. You can quickly see the differences between different versions of documents with the Document Diff Viewer component.

Distribution
The correct version of documents is automatically distributed to the appropriate production location, area, line, cell, process cell, or unit.

Data entry
Optionally collect manually entered production or checklist data with standard input fields. Based on templates, documents containing actual production data can be stored for later use.

Secure
The Document Management module uses industry-standard methods to ensure secure access to sensitive documents. Because documents are stored in the same database as the MES data, access to documents is restricted to individuals with the appropriate security rights. Documents are backed up along with the MES data, preventing items from becoming unsynchronized.
